My artwork is original because it is comprised of things that are important to me at this time in my life. The Native Americans often included important artifacts with their cultural symbols and these are important artifacts to me. I have chosen carefully items that are important to me. At first I tried making a paper mache depiction of myself but that was horrible because it looked like Frankenstein and so I smashed it in frustration. My sister was able to save the half that wasn't destroyed. I wrote the description in the colors of dark blue and black are used because I was in a dark place at the time. Next I gathered articles to take a photo of myself with. I talked to my sister Frannie and my brother Mike to help decide what items to include. If you look closely at the picture you will see that I am extremely interested in outdoorsmanship. I have a fishing rod, a spearing decoy, several goose and duck calls and some shell casings and some antler sheds that I found. I have also included a deck of cards since one of my favorite pastimes is playing carbles. I also consider myself to hold punctuality important. If I say that I will be there at a certain time, I will be. This is why I included a watch. I have taken the picture on a gray background and I am not smiling because I really hate this whole distance learning stuff. I do not consider myself to be social person and yet I hate that I cannot hang out with my friends, so I guess I am more than I thought I was. My first project that I hated how it turned out.

I chose this artwork because I like metal and this looked like something else when I first looked at it. At first I thought it was a mountain of steel plates and then I saw that it was a person that was just sitting there. I like how it is different as you walk around the sculpture, like maybe in one view the person is sad and lonely and then from a different direction, the person is just resting.
I think it is a successful piece of art based on Craftsmanship because there is obviously a high degree of skill used in creating this. it would be difficult to cut the metal, grind it smooth and then to place it so that it is level and stable. It is also successful based on Originality because it is unlike anything I have ever seen and because it gives the viewer a different sense of the sculpture as they walk around the piece of art. The three primary colors are red, blue and yellow. The three secondary colors are green, violet and orange. The color usually found at the top of the color wheel is yellow. The hardest color to find was violet. I thought I should have some MN Vikings stuff but couldn't find any. I liked adding the WD40 and the tape measure because that's my personality. They were my favorites. in Mrs. Underhill's color wheel, I liked the purple ruler.
I decided to upcycle some barn wood into a picture frame. I am not sure what I am going to use it for but I think it would make a good gift for someone, maybe Mom. I struggled with cutting a groove in the back for the glass to sit in. I tried to use the router but the wood was so dry that it was cracking so I had to use the table saw and just lower the blade. I think that it’s important that people value these buildings that the people that built them so long ago were so proud of and I am proud of my frame . As an artist I am in Art 3D. I hope to learn a lot of different methods of art. The risk I will take is experiment on how to put things together to make my art. My goals are to try different techniques of art.
